Terri Batch Headshot

Mrs. Terri L. Batch is the Founder and Principal of Batch Global Strategies (BGS), a strategic advisory firm dedicated to advancing inclusive international trade, investment promotion, and global market expansion. Through BGS, she advises public, private, and nonprofit organizations on export readiness, foreign direct investment (FDI), and cross-border economic development with a strong focus on equity and cultural fluency. Leveraging over two decades of global commercial expertise, Mrs. Batch designs and executes initiatives that help historically underserved businesses thrive in international markets.

In addition to leading BGS, Mrs. Batch serves as President & CEO of Global LA, a public-private partnership committed to positioning Los Angeles as a premier global hub for business, innovation, and international collaboration. Under her leadership, Global LA has revitalized its mission and outreach—rebuilding its board, rebranding its platform, and launching high-impact engagements with global investors and dignitaries. Notably, she led two landmark overseas events with the U.S. Embassy in Paris to promote Los Angeles ahead of the 2024 Summer Olympics and at the U.S. Embassy in Tokyo ahead of Major League Baseball’s Tokyo Series.  She has also organized promotional opportunities for the city of Los Angeles in London, England and Rimini, Italy.

Previously, Mrs. Batch spent over 20 years at the U.S. Department of Commerce, most recently serving as the Director of the Global Diversity Export Initiative (GDEI) within the U.S. Commercial Service. As the inaugural leader of GDEI, she championed the global expansion of minority-, women-, LGBTQ+-, veteran-, and disabled-owned businesses. Her accomplishments include organizing a groundbreaking GDEI trade mission to Africa and producing numerous global trade and investment events aimed at economic inclusion.

Throughout her federal tenure, Mrs. Batch founded the Global China Team, led the Global Design & Construction Team, and served as Export Advisor to the Minority Business Development Agency (MBDA).  She also co-led the White House Initiative on HBCU’s International Affairs Cluster and founded B-BOLD (Blacks Building Opportunities to Leverage Diversity), a pioneering employee resource group within the International Trade Administration of the U.S. Department of Commerce.

Mrs. Batch’s leadership has been recognized with numerous accolades, including Bronze and Silver Medal Awards from the U.S. Department of Commerce and the prestigious William E. Morton Memorial Award for excellence in diversity and inclusion. Her recent honors include being named a finalist for the Los Angeles Business Journal DEI Leadership Award and a nominee for the Los Angeles Times Inspirational Women in Leadership Award.

She holds a B.S. in Computer Science from Spelman College and a Master of Public Administration from the University of Southern California. Fluent in Mandarin Chinese and certified as a Global Logistics Specialist and Global Business Professional, she has guided U.S. businesses and government leaders across China, Asia, Europe, Africa, and Latin America.

A visionary strategist and global equity advocate, Mrs. Batch continues to champion inclusive economic growth—from the heart of Los Angeles to markets around the world.
